Combining both ceramics and brass in one piece has been circulating in my mind for ages. So I paid my dear friend Stijn a visit. He has the most intriguing workshop with all kinds of metals and I was lucky enough to find myself two pieces of brass with the right thickness.
I like my work to be a bit odd or so. Work that makes you think. It doesn’t need to be ‘right’ or perfect. I am very much in love with the look of the ceramics falling apart and the brass holding it back together.

This body of work will always be part of my permanent collection. I love the rawness of the black unglazed clay. The rough edges. The simple shapes.
