A round shaped vase placed on a book- or wall shelf, on a table edge or cabinet. Designed to hold a straw of wheat, a small branch or a single flower.
Inspired by both the Ovenbirds' and Reed Warblers' nests. Built entirely by the female, weaving its nest as a sling between two or three reed stems.

SPECKLED
An off white, speckled serie. Simplicity in both its shape and colour. All items are wheelthrown and unique in its kind. There's no aim to create the exact same pieces.
Glazed interior, raw fired ceramics exterior.

Designed by Mette Sophie and handmade by Josse van Tassel in Amsterdam, this sculpture consists of generations old massive residual hardwood: Maranti and Azobé.

Combining both ceramics and brass in one piece has been circulating in my mind for ages. So I paid my dear friend Stijn a visit. He has the most intriguing workshop with all kinds of metals and I was lucky enough to find myself two pieces of brass with the right thickness.
I like my work to be a bit odd or so. Work that makes you think. It doesn’t need to be ‘right’ or perfect. I am very much in love with the look of the ceramics falling apart and the brass holding it back together.
