The Moroccan Textile Collection

This collection found its origins high up in the Atlas Mountain Range. Based on an ancient circular process in which nature can flourish. No chemicals are being used, nor is the wool painted.

The textiles are ethically made and support artisans in Morocco.

Each cushion is designed and assembled in Amsterdam.

The Moroccan Textile Collection started earlier in 2023 when we got invited for lunch by Yahya’s long lasting colleague Lhcen. February in the High Atlas of Morocco can be bleak and cold and it was a tricky task to reach the Tizi ‘n Test pass safely. Luckily some handwoven blankets were waiting to keep us warm. These decades old blankets were of such big inspiration we couldn’t think of anything else but creating a small collection of this ancient craftsmanship. While the others went for a hike, Mette Sophie stayed in the hostel to draw some simple designs - all based on what we’ve seen earlier at Lhcen’s house. One thing led to another and we all got very exited to co-create a textile collection of handwoven blankets.
